Art Optical to Host Three-Part Myopia Management Webinar Series

October 19, 2023

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Art Optical is working with the KATT Design Group on a three-part myopia management webinar series. Each of the three sessions will highlight the latest findings on optical zone construction for effective orthokeratology treatment, supporting the recently introduced KATTCloud Platform.

The live, three-part webinar series kicks off on November 8 and will be presented by educator and expert Randy Kojima, FAAO, FBCLA, FSLS, FIAO. The 45-minute webinars will conclude with an interactive Q&A session with attendees.

The first session, entitled, “Improving the Myopia Controlling Effect in OrthoK Treatment,” will be on Wednesday, November 8, at 7:00 p.m. ET. Findings from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University have shown that smaller optical zones produce a stronger myopia control signal than conventional OZ orthokeratology lenses. This talk will review the VOLTZ study results and demonstrate that same technology in a modern myopia management lens design. This presentation will also introduce the novel platform that designs and supports this next generation of OrthoK lenses. Register for this session here.

Session two will be held on Tuesday, November 28, at 7:00 p.m. ET. This webinar, “Using the MOONLENS and KATTCloud Platform for Automated and Efficient Myopia Management,” will go in depth on fitting the MOONLENS and utilizing the new KATTCloud platform. The MOONLENS is a highly customized orthokeratology product that isn’t simply a lens but a systematic approach to treatment. This webinar will explain how the corneal topographer can be linked to the KATTCloud Platform to automate lens construction, order processing, fit optimization, and more. Practitioners will learn how to use MOONLENS and the KATTCloud Platform synergistically for automated, efficient, and accurate OrthoK practice. Registration for this session can be found here

The final webinar, “Utilizing Technology to Boost First Fit Success with MOONLENS” will be on Tuesday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. ET. The MOONLENS uses the new KATTCloud Platform as an essential tool to design, order, optimize, and manage orthokeratology patients throughout treatment. For practitioners without a direct link to the platform, this course will provide instruction on how to capture the best possible maps as well as how to collect the required data. Attendees will learn to use the KATTCloud Platform and build a highly customized MOONLENS for each unique eye. Additionally, the course will review how to optimize the fit by fine tuning MOONLENS parameters using the platform’s automation. Click here to register for this webinar.
