SYDNEY, Australia — The International Myopia Institute (IMI) has released its 2023 update for the Facts and Finding Infographic. The infographic is a useful public health communication tool and chairside reference of key myopia management evidence-based information for easy access by practitioners.
Since first publishing the Facts and Findings Infographic in August of 2021, downloads have reached the tens of thousands, and over the last six months, interest in accessing this resource has increased by 130%.
The 2023 update has added management options, including information about combination therapy and red and blue light therapy. It has also expanded the listed lens range to include Diffusion Optics Technology (DOT) for slowing the progression of myopia. The IMI’s Series 4 White Papers will be exploring these new combination treatments in greater detail. Their release is scheduled for the first half of 2025.
The updated 2023 Facts and Findings Infographic is currently available in English, with previous versions available in 18 other languages. The IMI will begin releasing translated versions over the coming months.
