HAINAN ISLAND, China — The International Myopia Conference (IMC) has selected its International Scientific Committee for the 19th IMC in Hainan Island, China.
The committee includes:

The International Scientific Committee will review all abstract submissions for the International Myopia Conference. The IMC opened abstract submissions on January 1, 2024, and authors of accepted submissions will be notified in July 2024. Topics for abstracts may include, but are not limited to:
- Myopia around the world
- Risk profiles
- Myopia complications
- Optical interventions
- Accommodation and binocular vision
- Smartphone use and near work
- Imaging and biometry
- Pharmacological interventions
- Genetics
- Animal models
- Public health
- Experimental models
The 19th International Myopia Conference will be held September 25-28, 2024, and registration is also now open. There are two registration deadlines that will help attendees save on their registration fees:
- Full registration before May 30, 2024: $220
- Full registration before July 15, 2024: $260
- Full registration after July 15, 2024: $360
Attendees from low- and middle-income countries, as well as optometry students, have the opportunity to save even more on their registration. The registration fee includes: lunch each day of the conference, a ticket to the gala dinner, and a ticket to the outdoor banquet dinner.
Review of Myopia Management (RMM) will be the Official Media Sponsor of the 19th International Myopia Conference. Review of Myopia Management will work with the IMC to promote the event to eye care professionals and vision scientists across the United States and globally. The groups plan to collaborate on soliciting abstracts for the conference, encouraging attendance, and publishing coverage of the event before, during, and after it takes place.
