In support of the October 8 World Sight Day, an annual day of awareness to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment, Nevakar is sharing content from its MyMyopia.com site to help educate parents about myopia.
The company has created shareable images with the World Sight Day hashtag and relevant myopia messages for eye care professionals to download and share on their own social media channels. The images highlight key facts regarding childhood myopia, such as the need for regular eye exams and more time spent outdoors.
The MyMyopia.com site has resources for parents as well as eye care professionals. The content includes a one-page reference sheet that provides the basics about myopia: childhood myopia stats, common myopia-related terminology, and frequently asked questions.
Also available is a myopia infographic that explains what myopia is, how it is increasing in the U.S. and the world, why children have the disease, how they are diagnosed, its long-term complications, treatment options, and where to get more information. The infographic can be downloaded and printed in several formats.
