Review of Myopia Management and Jobson Optical Group are proud to announce a new educational session at Vision Expo West: Getting Started with Myopia Management: Mastering Myopia Training Program. This four-hour event will be on Wednesday, September 17, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Mastering Myopia Training is designed specifically to educate eye care professionals (ECPs) on how to efficiently and effectively create or grow a successful myopia management clinic within their practice.
The program has a clear focus on educating ECPs on the practice management aspect of starting a myopia management clinic, including overcoming barriers, building a child-friendly practice, patient-parent communications, therapies, staffing and instrument needs. It provides insights and best practices in a clear and actionable program.
Review of Myopia Management Medical Co-Editors, Ashley Tucker, OD, FAAO, FSLS, ABO Diplomate, and Kevin Chan, OD, MS, FAAO, IACMM, along with Sheila Morrison, OD, MSc, FSLS, FAAO, will guide ECPs at any stage in their myopia management journey.
“This training session is perfect for any eye care professional,” said Dr. Tucker. “Whether you’re just getting started in myopia management, taking on a myopia management associate, want to take your practice to the next level, or even if you’re an eye care industry member—you’ll leave this event invigorated about myopia management.”
Dr. Chan said, “Attendees will immerse themselves in myopia management, going back to their practices with a wealth of information to help them get started or grow.”
The four-hour program will be broken down into four segments:
- Myopia Management: All Aboard covers the big “why” behind getting started with myopia management, the economics involved, overcoming the perceived barriers and more.
- Getting Your Practice Ready includes what you need to know about educating and motivating staff, focusing on parents and patients, as well as creating a child-friendly space.
- What Would You Do? This interactive session allows attendees to learn from one another, as well as the experts, on important components of myopia management, including when to start treatment, choosing the most appropriate treatment, monitoring progression and determining when to stop treatment.
- Promote Yourself, Promote Your Practice contains key points for internal and external marketing, co-managing with other health care professionals and preparing your practice for success.
“No matter where you are on your myopia management journey, this event is for you,” says Review of Myopia Management’s Executive Editor Kristen Dalli. “With experts in the field leading the charge, attendees will gain insights and expertise from the people who are active in myopia management every single day. This is a can’t-miss training program.”
