John Sailer Joins Jobson as Editor-in-Chief of Review of Myopia Management

Feb. 5, 2020

Jobson Medical Information is pleased to announce that John Sailer has been named editor-in-chief of Review of Myopia Management (RMM) and Special Projects. He will join the Practice Advancement Associates’ executive editorial leadership team of Marjolijn Bijlefeld and Margery Weinstein.

On RMM he will work directly with Dwight Akerman, OD, MBA, FAAO, chief medical editor, and Bob Burke, managing editor. RMM is the first multi-platform digital asset dedicated to myopia management. Launched in March 2019 by the Jobson Optical Group, RMM delivers excellence in education to empower eye care professionals to provide state-of-the-art myopia management care.

In addition to RMM, Sailer will be responsible for multimedia offerings such as podcasts, videos, and webinars. He will also participate in live meetings such as THE Myopia Meeting and the Private Equity seminar series.

“To date, most eye care professionals have not incorporated myopia management into their practices to any significant extent, primarily due to a lack of knowledge about how to integrate pediatric myopia management into a primary care optometric practice. With John’s wealth of experience, we will continue to create cutting-edge clinical and practice management content that will encourage eye care professionals to be more proactive in myopia care,” said Dwight Akerman, OD, MBA, FAAO, chief medical editor of Review of Myopia Management.

“We are excited to have John on board as a key part of our executive editorial leadership team,” said Al Greco, vice president, new business, and publisher of the Practice Advancement Associates Group at Jobson. “He brings to us deep experience in B2B optometric publishing, innumerable contacts with leading doctors in the profession, and a nose for the informational and educational content ODs need to achieve their professional goals.”

Sailer returns to Jobson, where he was senior editor of Vision Monday from 2011 through 2015. Prior to joining Jobson, he was editorial director of First Vision Media Group, publisher of multiple optical publications.
