CooperVision hosted its annual Myopia Luminaries event on January 7, bringing together leading U.S. and Canadian eye care professionals. The event spotlighted the central role of ECPs in shaping the future of myopia care, bringing together clinical evidence, real-world outcomes and emerging best practices.
Presentations and discussions featured insights from Dr. Mark Bullimore, who emphasized the importance of clearly defining treatment efficacy in myopia management. Additional sessions explored how evidence-based, FDA-approved therapies can bring greater consistency and confidence to clinical decision making. The program also addressed the human side of myopia management, with Dr. Shimi Kang highlighting communication strategies that build trust, counter misinformation and support families through empathy and collaboration.

Canadian clinicians contributed real-world perspectives on accessible, patient-centered care. Dr. Shalu Pal, Dr. Vishakha Thakrar, and Dr. Kylvin Ho shared clinical outcomes and emphasized the importance of practice leadership and a comprehensive myopia management portfolio during a panel moderated by Dr. Nathalie Trottier, Senior Manager Professional and Academic Affairs Canada.
