SAN FRANCISCO — Barti has updated its traditional Myopia Management Exam Templates in its electronic health record (EHR) system. The eye care software solutions company announced that the latest iteration of its software integrates specific fields for orthokeratology lenses from top brands including Paragon CRT, Bausch + Lomb VST, Euclid, Johnson & Johnson Vision Acuvue Abiliti, and GOV Ortho-K.
The introduction of specific OrthoK lens fields is part of Barti’s broader initiative to support optometrists with advanced, evidence-based treatments. By facilitating precise data entry and easy access to critical information, Barti Software helps eye care providers optimize treatment plans and monitor progression with accuracy, which in other legacy EHR systems typically required all information to be inputted as free text. This capability allows for better tracking of lens changes and overall patient management, crucial for long-term treatment plans.
“OrthoK patients typically stay with the same doctor for over seven to eight years, making it essential for optometrists to have an organized, longitudinal view of a patient’s history,” said Dr. Leah Johnson, a leading practitioner in myopia management and advisor for Barti Software. “With this update, Barti’s EHR simplifies how doctors access and use critical data, which can significantly impact patient outcomes. The Myopia Management Template helps you easily track your patient’s axial length and OrthoK lens details, making it a game changer in tracking your patient’s journey in your clinic. It includes specifically designed OrthoK lens fields to remove the burden of upfront customization for tracking lenses and prevents the hassle of searching for essential data in free text fields.”
“As myopia management continues to grow rapidly in the eye care industry, we are excited to be at the forefront, making OrthoK more accessible to more optometrists by lowering the barrier to get started,” said Colton Calandrella, CEO and Co-Founder of Barti Software.
Barti plans to expand its specialty template offerings to include areas such as dry eye, OSD, and binocular vision, further enhancing the tools available to optometrists, and creating an EHR designed specifically for their unique specialty needs. The company will also be participating in upcoming myopia management conferences, including Vision by Design and T.H.E. Summit 2024 with Treehouse Eyes, to engage with industry experts and showcase their latest advancements.
